Crystal Palace secured a 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, advancing to the next round of the competition. Eberechi Eze was the star of the show, scoring a stunning goal and setting up another.
QPR started brightly, but it was Palace who took the lead in the 20th minute. Eze picked up the ball on the left wing and drove towards the QPR penalty area. He cut inside and curled a superb shot into the far corner.
QPR pushed for an equalizer, but Palace's defense held firm. The visitors doubled their lead in the 70th minute when Eze set up Wilfried Zaha, who finished coolly.
QPR pressed for a consolation goal, but Crystal Palace held on to secure the victory and a place in the next round.
Reaction
QPR manager Michael Beale was disappointed with his team's performance but praised Crystal Palace.
"We started well, but we didn't create enough chances," said Beale. "Crystal Palace are a good team, and they punished us for our mistakes."
Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira was delighted with his team's performance.
"We played very well tonight," said Vieira. "We controlled the game from start to finish, and we deserved to win."

Crystal Palace will host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday. QPR will travel to Burnley in the EFL Championship on the same day.
