3400 Veterans Battling Homelessness to Benefit

The Home Depot Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Home Depot, has announced a $9 million investment to provide housing for more than 3400 veterans battling homelessness. The investment will support the construction or renovation of 300 homes for veterans in 15 communities across the United States.

The investment is part of The Home Depot Foundation's commitment to provide $250 million to veteran-focused causes by 2025. The foundation has already invested more than $100 million in veteran housing and homeless prevention programs, providing housing for more than 5,000 veterans.

"We are proud to continue our support of veterans and their families," said Shannon Gerber, executive director of The Home Depot Foundation. "This investment will help to provide housing for veterans who have served our country and deserve a safe and stable place to call home."

The investment will be used to support a variety of housing programs, including:

  • The construction of new homes for veterans
  • The renovation of existing homes for veterans
  • The purchase of homes for veterans
  • The provision of rental assistance to veterans

The investment will also be used to support the development of new programs and services to help veterans transition to stable housing.

The Home Depot Foundation is working with a variety of partners to provide housing for veterans, including:

  • The United Way
  • The Salvation Army
  • The Veterans of Foreign Wars
  • The American Legion

The investment is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs in the construction and housing industries.
